Job summary

Leycroft Academy in Birmingham invites applications for a Class Teacher to join our autistic-focused primary school. The role requires a Bachelor’s Degree and QTS, and you will work with the SENCO to support pupils with SEND, while delivering high-quality lessons across Reception to Year 6.

Lead learning with our SEND team and contribute to curriculum development as we expand Expressive Arts, Understanding the World and Personal Development across our classrooms.

• Experience in supporting pupils with SEND is highly valued.

Responsibilities

• Support school activities including educational trips, extra-curricular activities and parents’ evenings; may require out-of-hours availability.

Contract: Permanent, Full time.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Class Teacher to join Leycroft Academy.

Leycroft Academy is a specialist primary school for autistic children from Reception to Year 6.

Our vision is to enable children to understand the world around them and the talents within them, so they can become fulfilled individuals and active, compassionate citizens. We work closely with families and a range of multi- agency partners, including Speech and Language Therapy and Occupational Therapy services, to provide a holistic and personalised approach to every child's development.

Leycroft Academy is at an exciting stage of its journey. We are entering a significant phase of curriculum development and look forward to further embedding our faculties of Expressive Arts, Understanding the World, and Personal Development, creating rich learning opportunities that enable children to understand the world around them and the talents within.

The Class Teacher - will actively support school activities where required, including attending educational trips, extra-curricular activities, and parents’ evenings, which may require some out-of-hours availability.

• Be organised, professional and proficient, with appropriate IT skills.
• Be working with the SENCO to ensure pupils with SEND are appropriately supported.
• Be working with the DSL and their deputies to ensure safeguarding is promoted.
• Be collaborating with the designated teacher for LAC to support LAC and previously LAC.
• Hold a Batchelors Degree and QTS qualification.
