Job summary

Begbrook Primary Academy is seeking a passionate Preschool Teacher to join the Early Years team. You will deliver high-quality EYFS teaching, create engaging play-based learning, and support pupil progress in a diverse setting.

The role is fixed term until August 2027 with a 32.5 hour week and a November 2, 2026 start, offering a supportive environment within the Cabot Learning Federation.

Qualifications

  • Experience delivering the EYFS curriculum with play-based learning.
  • Ability to meet needs of diverse learners including EAL, SEND and PP pupils.
  • Reflective practitioner with secure curriculum knowledge and professional development.
  • Strong communicator who builds positive relationships with pupils, families and staff.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality teaching across the preschool/early years and primary contexts.

Contract Type:Fixed Term Contract until 31 August 2027 (due to temporary rise in workload)

Hours:Full-Time, 32.5 hours per week

We are seeking a passionate and committed Teacher to join Begbrook Primary Academy, where you will deliver high-quality teaching across the primary curriculum and help every child develop the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to succeed. This role offers a rewarding opportunity to shape learning, nurture curiosity and support pupils’ progress at every stage of their primary education.

This role is specifically for a Teacher to teach in our Preschool. Therefore, experience of teaching in the Early Years Foundation Stage is essential.

We are looking for a passionate and nurturing Preschool Teacher to join our dedicated Early Years team. This is a wonderful opportunity for an enthusiastic educator who believes in the power of play, the importance of communication and language development, and the value of building meaningful relationships to inspire a lifelong love of learning. You will have the opportunity to use your talents and expertise to play a key role in championing the success and life chances of every child across Cabot Learning Federation.

Our commitment to high expectations, a joy-filled contemporary curriculum and excellent teaching enable us to create meaningful opportunities for lifelong success as our pupils grow and flourish.

This is a fixed term contract offered to an individual who has some teaching experience. On this occasion, we are unable to offer this role to an ECT, as we cannot guarantee our usual high levels of support with release time and mentoring.

About you:
  • a qualified teacher or hold an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
  • Able to deliver the EYFS curriculum effectively, creating engaging, play-based learning opportunities that support children’s development and ensure strong progress across all areas of learning.
  • confident in meeting the needs of diverse learners, including pupils eligible for pupil premium, looked after children, those with SEND, EAL pupils and high-attaining learners.
  • a reflective and adaptable practitioner, with secure subject and curriculum knowledge and a commitment to continuous professional development.
  • a strong communicator, able to build positive, professional relationships with pupils, colleagues and parents, and contribute positively to the wider life and ethos of the school.
  • committed to creating a safe, inclusive and stimulating learning environment, underpinned by high expectations for behaviour, learning and personal development.
  • able to recognise, value and support opportunities that extend beyond the classroom, enriching pupils’ experiences and fostering a love of learning.
  • empowered to develop your own expert practice and, where appropriate, support and influence the practice of others.
  • highly competent in all elements of the Teachers’ Standards, with sustained impact on pupil outcomes and wider school improvement (for Upper Pay Scale applicants).
