A chartered accountancy firm based in Worthing is seeking a Manager for its Tax Advisory team. The role involves advising clients on corporate and personal taxes, managing complex tax returns, and supporting trainee development. Qualifications

• Experience in providing tax advice to SMEs and their owner/managers.
• Experience managing and reviewing complex corporation tax returns.
• Experience in corporate and personal taxes and tax planning.
• Ability to manage trainees and deliver complex tax projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide clear and concise advice to a portfolio of clients.
• Manage and review complex corporation tax returns and provide tax planning advice.
• Line management responsibilities for trainees within the team.
• Advise owner-managed businesses on remuneration planning, CGT and IHT mitigation.
• Deliver specialist tax advice including profit extraction strategies and key lifecycle stages.
• Line management responsibilities for trainees with regular feedback and development.

Job description

We are looking for a Manager to work within our Tax Advisory team. The role will be based predominantly in our Worthing office, with the flexibility to work from home and/or our Gatwick, Brighton or Chichester offices. Our team provides tax advice across a wide variety of sectors and taxes, and you will need to have proven experience in both corporate and personal taxes.

Key Responsibilities

• Providing clear and concise advice to your portfolio of clients, building trusted and effective relationships
• Work closely with non-tax fee earners across the group, including Business Services and Audit, to deliver a wide range of business tax projects
• Managing and reviewing complex corporation tax returns, advising on matters such as corporate reorganisations, EMI schemes, and tax planning for owner managed businesses.
• Advising owner managed businesses regarding remuneration planning, succession planning, CGT and IHT mitigation
• Delivering specialist tax advice which may include profit extraction strategies, management buy outs, and key stages of the business lifecycle.
• Line management responsibilities for trainees within your team, providing regular feedback and supporting their development.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

• You should be an experienced tax adviser to SMEs and their owner/managers
• CTA qualified is advantageous, however candidates that are ATT/ACA qualified with proven experience may also be considered.
