Larking Gowen in Norwich is seeking a diligent tax assistant to support the tax team. You will enter client data to prepare tax returns, assist with basic Capital Gains Tax computations, and prepare HMRC forms under senior review.

The role focuses on accuracy, client service and teamwork, with opportunities for development within a supportive firm. Training and progression are available as you grow your tax expertise.

Qualifications

• Previous tax experience.
• GCSE English and Mathematics at Grade 9–4 (A*–C).
• Experience using Microsoft packages, internet, email and other computerised packages.
• Intermediate Excel skills.
• Basic Word skills including letter writing.
• Good customer service skills.

Responsabilités

• Assist in the preparation of tax returns and computations from client source data, including rental income, basic self-employment income, and related tasks.
• Draft basic Capital Gains Tax computations and returns for senior review.
• Prepare HMRC forms for senior review, including tax elections and PAYE code amendments.
• Support senior team on tax advisory projects.
• Liaise with HMRC and other professionals regarding client affairs.
• Ensure adherence to professional and ethical procedures.
• Maintain and update the in-house client database.
