Job summary

Switch Up is seeking a dedicated Targeted Youth Worker to mentor and support young people in schools, community hubs and other settings across Nottinghamsire and Mansfield. You will deliver tailored mentoring, groupwork and workshops designed to build life skills, confidence and resilience.

The role requires building trusted relationships with young people, effective communication with families, schools and partner agencies, and the ability to manage a varied caseload while keeping precise

Qualifications

  • Experience mentoring or working with young people.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
  • Ability to travel regularly within Nottinghamshire and Mansfield.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver one-to-one mentoring, group interventions and workshops for young people.
  • Liaise with schools, families and partner agencies to support young people.
  • Maintain accurate and timely records of interventions to ensure positive outcomes.
  • Develop tailored support plans and deliver engaging mentoring sessions.

Salary: From £26,500.00 per year DOE

About the Role

We're looking for passionate and committed Targeted Youth Workers to join our growing team.

This is an incredibly rewarding role for someone who enjoys building positive relationships with young people and helping them overcome barriers to achieve their full potential.

You'll work with young people in schools, our community hubs and other community settings, delivering one-to-one mentoring, group interventions and workshops that inspire confidence, improve life skills and encourage positive decision-making.

No two days are the same. You'll work creatively to develop tailored support plans, liaise with schools, families and partner agencies, and maintain accurate records of your interventions to ensure positive outcomes for every young person.

We're looking for someone who can:
  • Build trusted relationships with young people.
  • Bring out the best in others and inspire positive change.
  • Remain calm, resilient and solution-focused in challenging situations.
  • Deliver engaging mentoring sessions, workshops and interventions.
  • Communicate confidently with young people, families, schools and partner agencies.
  • Manage a varied caseload while maintaining accurate and timely records.
  • Work confidently using Microsoft Office and digital case management systems in a paperless environment.
  • Work independently while contributing positively to a supportive team.
  • A genuine passion for supporting children and young people.
  • Excellent communication, organisational and time management skills.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
  • Business insurance for your vehicle (or willingness to obtain this before starting).
  • Willingness to transport young people as part of the role.
  • Ability to travel regularly across Nottingham and Mansfield.
