About the role

Job Title: Targeted Support Teaching Assistant
Location: Ashford
Pay: £440 - £550 per week (via PAYE)

Vision for Education is a leading education recruitment agency that works closely with primary, secondary and SEN schools across Kent. We are looking to appoint an inspiring and motivating Targeted Support Teaching Assistant to join an inclusive and welcoming primary school team in Ashford

This is a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the education and development of children with special educational needs. Successful candidates will be experienced and successful Teaching Assistants who enjoy working in a team and taking responsibility. The successful candidate will also have a strong commitment to inclusive principles and be committed to safeguarding children and young people.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support children (including those with SEND) on a 1:1 or small group basis, both inside and outside of the classroom
  • Assist the class Teacher in creating a tailored, engaging learning experience for each child
  • Support in assessing and documenting children’s progress, fostering a learning environment where every child is encouraged to reach their full potential, regardless of their ability
  • Foster a safe, positive and stimulating classroom setting and create learning resources to support children, based on their individual needs and interests
  • Communicate effectively with parents and colleagues as part of a multi-agency approach

Requirements

  • Experience working with children or young people, ideally in an education setting
  • A caring, patient and empathetic approach to supporting children
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply for one)
