Job description

We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a supportive primary team, working in a Year 3 classroom. This is a wonderful opportunity for someone who enjoys working with children and wants to play a key role in supporting their academic and personal development. Beginning June 2025.

Duties as a Year 3 Teaching Assistant:

  • Support the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons and managing classroom routines.

  • Work with small groups or individual pupils to provide targeted support, including those with additional needs.

  • Help prepare learning materials, set up activities, and contribute to a stimulating classroom environment.

  • Support pupils’ social, emotional, and behavioural development.

  • Assist with the assessment and recording of pupil progress under the direction of the teacher.

Ideal Year 3 Teaching Assistant:

  • Experience working with primary-aged children, ideally in a school setting.

  • A relevant qualification (e.g. Level 2 or Level 3 in Supporting Teaching and Learning) or willingness to train.

  • A positive, patient, and flexible attitude.

  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team as a Year 3 Teaching Assistant.

  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
