Science Graduate Teaching Assistant: Person Specification

  • Science Graduate Teaching Assistant – Ideal candidate will have achieved 2:1 or higher in a Science-based degree (Biology, Chemistry, Physics or a closely related discipline)
  • Some experience working with young people in any capacity is desirable but not essential
  • A proactive attitude combined with strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for teaching
  • An open nature and excellent interpersonal skills to build positive relationships with students and staff
  • The ideal Science Graduate Teaching Assistant will demonstrate a clear interest in progressing towards a long-term career in education

  • Deliver 1-1 and small group intervention sessions to support learners across KS3, KS4 & KS5 in Science subjects

  • Provide in-class support to aid teaching and learning outcomes
  • Plan and lead targeted tutoring sessions to deepen students' understanding and engagement with Science
  • Receive weekly training and mentoring to develop your teaching skills and classroom practice

This Science Graduate Teaching Assistant role is full-time. You will follow the school week, working Monday-Friday; 8:30am to 4:00pm daily during term-time.
