Job description

We are looking for an experienced, proactive and people-focused Talent Manager to join our growing care homes group.

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate HR and recruitment professional to lead our talent strategy, ensuring we attract, recruit, develop and retain the right people to deliver outstanding care and support to our residents.

Working closely with senior leaders, Home Managers and the wider HR team, you will play a key role in building a strong workforce, strengthening our employer brand and ensuring our homes have the skilled, compassionate and dedicated teams they need to thrive.

Key responsibilities
  • Talent acquisition: Lead and develop recruitment strategies to attract high-quality candidates across our care homes and central support functions.

  • Workforce planning: Work with Home Managers and senior leaders to anticipate staffing needs, reduce vacancies and support effective workforce planning.

  • Recruitment delivery: Oversee the end-to-end recruitment process, from advertising vacancies and candidate selection through to offers and onboarding.

  • Employer branding: Promote the group as an employer of choice, developing innovative ways to attract care professionals and strengthen our presence in the local employment market.

  • Retention and engagement: Develop initiatives to improve employee retention, engagement and the overall colleague experience.

  • Talent development: Support succession planning, internal progression and the identification of future leaders within the group.

  • Compliance and safer recruitment: Ensure recruitment practices meet relevant employment legislation, safeguarding requirements and applicable care-sector standards, including appropriate DBS checks and employment references.

  • Performance and reporting: Monitor recruitment KPIs, vacancy levels, time to hire, agency usage and retention trends, using data to drive continuous improvement.

  • Stakeholder management: Build strong relationships with Home Managers, HR colleagues and senior management to deliver a consistent, effective recruitment service.

About you

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has proven experience in talent management, recruitment or HR, ideally within the care home, healthcare or wider social care sector.

  • Has a strong understanding of end-to-end recruitment and workforce planning.

  • Can influence and build effective relationships with stakeholders at all levels.

  • Is commercially aware, organised and confident using recruitment data to make informed decisions.

  • Has a creative approach to sourcing candidates and building an attractive employer brand.

  • Understands the importance of safeguarding, safer recruitment and compliance in a care environment.

  • Is passionate about people, colleague development and delivering high standards of care.

  • Can work independently while contributing positively to a collaborative, fast-paced team.

What we offer
  • A competitive salary, reflective of your skills and experience.

  • The opportunity to make a meaningful difference to the quality of care delivered across our homes.

  • The chance to shape and develop our group-wide talent and recruitment strategy.

  • Opportunities for professional development and career progression.

  • A supportive working environment with the opportunity to work closely with senior leadership.

  • The opportunity to help build a culture where colleagues feel valued, supported and empowered to succeed.
