ABMI Greater Bristol Area, United Kingdom

Talent Management Officer

Get AI-powered advice on this job and more exclusive features.

From day one, you’ll help shape our UK operations and co-create our future. We'll give you the space, the trust, and the support to grow—short term, mid term, and beyond.

We’re not looking for someone to execute. We’re looking for someone to grow with us.

1 – Who We Are

We’re the UK branch of ABMI, a French engineering consulting group with over 35 years of experience delivering high-level expertise in critical industries like nuclear energy, aerospace, and transportation. We don’t do everything—we specialize. And that makes all the difference.

ABMI is known for its deep technical knowledge and ability to adapt its skills to new sectors. Our strength lies in choosing focus over breadth. In the UK, we’re applying our nuclear expertise to projects with EDF, a long-standing client we’ve supported for years in France. That trust opened the door for us to expand—and now, we’re writing the UK chapter of this story.

We’re not here to fill seats. We’re here to deliver tailored engineering solutions that drive results. That’s the consulting mindset: we align with our partners’ challenges, and we bring the right people, the right tools, and the right strategy to move things forward.

As we grow, we remain anchored in our core values: expertise, integrity, and care for people—because our consultants are at the heart of everything we do.

2 – Why This Role Was Created

Our UK growth is a success story in motion. What started as a bold expansion has turned into a solid operation, and now it’s time to take things further—with more structure, without losing what makes us, us.

This is where this role becomes a strategic pillar in our journey. We need someone close to our consultants, a true partner—not just an executor—who will help us maintain proximity, coherence, and purpose.

That’s why we’re opening this new role: Talent management officer for our UK team.

You’ll help us strike the right balance between building solid foundations and staying agile—so we can grow with care, and stay true to who we are.

3 – What You’ll Do

This is a strategic position for the company, offering a 360° view of the HR function. It’s a comprehensive role, at the heart of the human and organizational challenges of ABMI UK.

  • Source talent through direct outreach, LinkedIn, job boards, school partnerships, and referrals
  • Manage the full recruitment process—from scouting to interviews and salary negotiations
  • Prepare contracts with HR
  • Handle administrative formalities for consultants
  • Organize logistics for UK arrivals (travel, housing, visa documentation)
  • Design onboarding materials and processes (e.g., consultant handbook)
  • Respond to HR queries (payroll, admin, general)
  • Lead regular check-ins with consultants to promote retention
  • Organize internal events (seasonal gatherings, tech meetups, team building)

4 – Why Join Us?

Here, we combine the solidity of a well-established group with the agility of a human-sized entity. We're a tight-knit team, still growing, still building—and that’s where you come in. You’ll join a consulting company, not a recruitment agency, and you’ll help shape the experience of our consultants in a way that puts people at the center.

This is a true springboard role—perfect for launching a meaningful and impactful HR career.

  • Be part of building a service from scratch: processes, data, people, and onboarding materials
  • A balanced role: 50% HR operations and employee experience, 50% recruitment strategy
  • Immediate impact on the team’s well-being and engagement
  • Improve what’s already been built
  • Bring creative ideas to our consultant handbook and compensation packages
  • Support growth
  • Develop school partnerships and contribute to our employer brand
  • Grow into a leadership role: Head your own HR & Recruitment team
  • Build a recruitment team, an HR team, and a school relations team
  • Become a cornerstone of our long-term strategy

5 – Who You Are

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field
  • 1–3 years of experience in talent acquisition, HR, or employee engagement
  • Experience in an engineering consultancy or industrial environment
  • Knowledge of UK HR processes (time off, payroll, onboarding, visa, etc.)
  • Fluent in English (French is a plus)
  • Strong interpersonal skills, sense of initiative, and creative mindset
  • Highly organized, proactive, and flexible

ABMI is an Equal Opportunity Employer: We celebrate diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees. We welcome applications from all qualified candidates, regardless of race, gender, disability, sexual orientation, or background.

6 – Our Culture

At ABMI, we believe that culture is the foundation. It’s essential to understand who we are to know how we move forward and what drives us. It’s not about bragging, it’s what truly shapes our success. Here are our pillars:

  • We value expertise, agility, and proximity.
  • We’re specialists—not generalists—and proud of it.
  • We’re close to our people, and we don’t say that lightly.
  • Consultants aren’t numbers; they’re the heart of our mission.

We’re transparent—no taboo topics. Let’s talk about what you need to do your best work.

Salary range: £30K–£40K (based on experience)

  • Initial call with our Corporate Talent Acquisition
