Job description

Reporting to the Head of People, the Talent Acquisition Specialist will develop and execute strategic recruitment aligned with the Logistics Management Contract, ensuring business needs are met and company policies are followed. The role involves full-cycle recruitment and maintaining a talent pool for succession planning.

Position Details
  • Location: Guildford Office (in-office role only); travel to depots in Tonbridge, Millbrook, Fairlee, Crawley, and Colnbrook as needed.
  • Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time
  • Hours: Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours (start times flexible)
  • Salary: Competitive, based on experience

About The Role

We seek customer-focused individuals to join our Utility Division, working on our Logistics Management Contract to provide effective recruitment solutions.

  • Arrange and conduct interviews and assessment centers.
  • Manage candidate communications and scheduling.
  • Post and update job adverts, adjust descriptions, and manage headcount changes.
  • Search job boards for potential candidates.
  • Verify applicant eligibility, conduct driver and background checks.
  • Prepare induction paperwork and reference checks.
  • Maintain recruitment documentation, including GDPR compliance.
  • Build relationships with internal stakeholders and partner with external entities like Southern Water.
  • Collaborate on campaigns to attract applicants.
  • Attend meetings to understand recruitment needs.
  • Manage recruitment systems and data reporting.
  • Train managers and staff on interview techniques.
  • Conduct exit interviews and market research.
  • Stay updated on UK employment law and market trends.
  • Act as the main contact for recruitment issues across the network.
  • Handle ad hoc recruitment tasks and projects.

About You

Qualifications & Requirements

  • Previous experience as a talent acquisition specialist, recruitment consultant, or similar role is essential.
  • Experience with recruitment agencies and high-volume recruitment is advantageous.
  • Industry experience in drainage, utilities, or retail is beneficial.
  • A full UK driver’s license is required.
