Role Description: Tailor / Seamstress (Full-Time, On-Site – Greater London)

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-focused Tailor / Seamstress to join our in-house team full-time at our Greater London studio. The ideal candidate is experienced in high-end garment construction, has a strong eye for fit and finish, and thrives in a fast-paced creative environment. You’ll be working on everything from runway samples and editorial pieces to VIP customs and one-off garments, playing a key role in bringing the Mowalola vision to life with precision and care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute bespoke tailoring, alterations, and full garment construction from initial measurements to final finish, ensuring alignment with design intent and fit standards
• Perform VIP fittings in-studio, making real-time adjustments and recommendations for comfort, performance, and visual impact
• Work from patterns or draped designs to assemble garments with exacting craftsmanship and attention to detail
• Specialize in finishing techniques appropriate for high-end production — hand-stitching, blind hems, custom lining work, and specialty hardware
• Collaborate with pattern cutters and designers to troubleshoot and refine construction methods for complex silhouettes
• Assist in the production of editorial, runway, and performance garments under tight timelines
• Maintain an exceptionally clean and organized work area, keeping sewing tools, machinery, and garments in pristine condition
• Document all alterations and fittings clearly to support future customs or reorders

Qualifications:

• Strong experience in dressmaking and bespoke tailoring, especially in a studio or atelier environment
• Proven ability to fit and alter garments for a diverse range of body types, with attention to detail, proportion, and movement
• Excellent construction skills across a wide range of materials, including leather, denim, stretch fabrics, and tailored wools
• Exceptional hand and machine sewing skills with a luxury-standard finish
• Professional communication skills, especially when interacting with VIP clients or high-pressure fittings
• Strong time management and the ability to work independently while contributing to a highly collaborative team
• Experience in a fashion studio or tailoring house working on custom and made-to-measure garments is highly desirable
• Relevant education or certification in tailoring, fashion design, or garment construction is an advantage
