Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled or junior CAD Designer with experience in joinery and furniture design to produce detailed drawings for manufacturing and installation. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with project managers, production teams, and clients to bring complex designs to life with accuracy and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
Produce accurate 2D and 3D CAD drawings for bespoke joinery and cabinetry, from concept to production
Interpret architectural drawings, design briefs, and site surveys
Create detailed manufacturing and assembly drawings for workshop use
Liaise with project managers and clients to ensure design intent and technical requirements are met
Conduct material and hardware specifications based on project needs
Support the workshop with technical clarification during production
Assist with revisions and modifications to drawings as needed
Ensure all drawings comply with industry standards, company practices, and health & safety regulations
Requirements:
Proven experience as a CAD Designer in a joinery or woodworking environment
Proficiency in AutoCAD (and/or SolidWorks, Cabinet Vision, or similar CAD software)
Strong knowledge of joinery construction methods, materials, and fittings
Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills
Ability to read and interpret architectural and technical drawings
Good communication skills and ability to work both independently and in a team
A portfolio of previous CAD drawings or completed projects is desirable
Preferred Qualifications:
NVQ, City & Guilds, or degree in Product Design, Furniture Design, or related field
On-site experience or understanding of installation practices
