We are seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant to work across the school, supporting children with additional needs (small group interventions, etc).

Grangetown is a vibrant, friendly and welcoming primary school. We are seeking to appoint a Teaching Assistant for a September start.

The post is designed to boost the support we provide for children who need to ‘catch up’ with aspects of their learning. This will include disadvantaged children and children with additional needs. Applications are invited from enthusiastic, caring and highly committed candidates, who are able to make a positive contribution to the life of our school.

Responsibilities
  • Have the knowledge and skills to work effectively with children who struggle with aspects of their learning.
  • Be proficient in supporting aspects of teaching and learning, under the direction of classroom teachers and the SENDCO.
  • Have high expectations for all children, and the ability to motivate children.
  • Be a caring person who wants the very best for all children.
  • Be a team player but also able to work independently when required.
  • Be an effective communicator, willing to participate fully in the life of the school.
Benefits
  • A happy and successful school that puts children at the heart of everything we do.
  • Enthusiastic children who are keen to learn and who enjoy school.
  • Friendly, supportive and dedicated colleagues.
  • Excellent relationships with parents/carers and the wider community.
  • A strong commitment to supporting your professional development.

Our school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and we expect all staff to share this commitment. All appointments are subject to satisfactory references and pre-employment checks, including enhanced DBS clearance.
