Job summary

Halfords is seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician/Mechanic in the UK to service and repair vehicles, carry out diagnostics and complex tasks, and work toward MOT testing qualification.

The role offers a base salary up to £36,620 with on-target earnings up to £42,420 and an uncapped monthly bonus averaging £5,800 per year, plus comprehensive benefits and training.

Qualifications

• Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or equivalent.
• Minimum 4 years' Vehicle Technician/Mechanic experience in a workshop.
• Full UK driving licence with no more than 9 points.
• Ability to carry out diagnostics and more complex repairs.
• Willing to undertake MOT Tester training & qualification.

Responsibilities

• Carry out servicing, repairs and replacements on vehicles.
• Perform diagnostics across electrical, braking, steering and suspension systems.
• Carry out MOT tests to DVSA standards when qualified.

Compensation

On-target earnings up to £42,420.
Comprising a base salary of up to £36,620.
An uncapped monthly bonus scheme with average additional earnings of £5,800 per year.
Funded MOT Tester qualification with salary uplift on completion
5 days a week

As a Vehicle Technician / Mechanic, you'll already be skilled in servicing and repair/replacement work. You'll have the ability to carry out more complex tasks such as clutch and timing belt replacements and diagnostics across vehicle electrical, braking, steering and suspension systems.

Once qualified, you'll also carry out MOT tests to DVSA standards and complete a wide range of vehicle maintenance and repair work. From advanced diagnostics and complex repairs through to routine servicing, you'll ensure every vehicle is maintained and repaired to the highest standard, helping to keep our customers safely on the road.
