Job Description

Are you passionate about vehicle simulation, durability, and system-level performance? ALTEN UK is seeking System Engineers to support innovative projects in the premium automotive sector, focusing on durability analysis, thermal comfort systems, and safety-critical simulations. This is your chance to shape how advanced seating technologies and structural designs meet performance and comfort demands in modern vehicles.

Location: Coventry (Hybrid)

Your main responsibilities will be:

1. Perform durability analysis and risk assessments across seating systems and occupant structures.
2. Develop system-level models related to seat heating, cooling, and electro-mechanical actuators.
3. Carry out FEA simulations, focusing on crash safety, material behaviour, and component performance.
4. Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to integrate mechanical, electrical, and thermal subsystems.
5. Use modelling tools to simulate real-world performance scenarios and support design validation.
6. Contribute to design reviews, test planning, and continuous improvement of system modelling methods.

Qualifications

Experience, skills and qualifications required:

1. Experience in system engineering or simulation roles within the automotive or aerospace industry.
2. Strong understanding of thermal systems, electromechanical actuators, and vehicle seat design.
3. Proven knowledge of FEA for crash safety, vibration, or durability analysis.
4. Proficient in MATLAB, Simulink, and FEA simulation tools.
5. Exposure to CATIA V5 for CAD data handling and integration with simulation models.
6. Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work within a multi-disciplinary environment.
