Qualifications

• Degree in STEM with 2:1 or above from a top-tier university.
• Strong Go coding skills and systems engineering background.
• Experience building highly reliable systems and robust APIs.
• Understanding of underlying infrastructure and how it supports applications.
• Knowledge of security at network, OS, and application level.
• Experience with observability and SRE practices.
• Familiarity with IaC and Terraform preferred.
• Good grasp of Kubernetes and how it works.
• Knowledge of low-level programming and kernel concepts.

Systems Engineer (SRE Golang) London / WFH to £100k

Are you a bright, ambitious technologist Systems Engineer with a strong knowledge of modern software infrastructure and robust APIs?

You could be progressing your career in a hands‑on Systems Engineer role at a scaling FinTech that is developing a fast, secure cross‑border payments platform that is designed for ultra low‑cost, near‑instant money transfer at significantly higher transaction sizes than what's currently possible, with a mission to break down the barriers that have held back African businesses for decades.

As a Systems Engineer you'll help to design and build the infrastructure that runs production applications while contributing directly to the backend codebase. Working primarily with Go / Golang, you'll tackle technically challenging problems across authentication, security, networking and WebSockets, with the opportunity to understand and influence systems right down to the operating system level.

Reliability will be central to everything you do. You'll design systems with that are resilient, adaptable and highly available, working across performance, observability and security. You'll also work with Infrastructure as Code such as Terraform and Kubernetes.

You'll be collaborating with and learning from a hugely talented team.

Location / WFH:

You can work from home most of the time, meeting up with colleagues in the London office once a month.

About you:

• You are degree educated, having achieved a 2.1 or above from a top tier university in a STEM discipline
• You're a skilled Systems Engineer with strong Go / Golang coding skills
• You have experience of designing and developing highly reliable, robust systems and APIs
• You understand what is happening underneath the application and the infrastructure needed to support it
• You have a strong knowledge of network, operating system and application level security
• You have experience with systems observability / SRE e.g. logs, metrics
• You have experience with IaC, Terraform preferred
• You have a good understanding of Kubernetes and how it works
• You have a good knowledge of low level programming, Kernel separation, systems calls, bare metal
