Job summary

Mondrian Alpha in London is seeking a Systems Engineer to own day-to-day systems administration and end-user support within a Linux-centric, multi-tenant AWS environment. You will administer Linux servers, build infrastructure as code with Terraform and Ansible, and support Windows, macOS and Linux endpoints, as well as databases and SaaS platforms.

This role offers genuine autonomy in a flat team structure.

Qualifications

A leading multi-strategy hedge fund is hiring a Systems Engineer to own day-to day systems administration and end-user support, working directly with the wider Systems Infrastructure teamand the London Head of Infrastructure to keep a large, Linux-centric, multi-tenant AWS environment running smoothly.

This is a hands-on infrastructure role with genuine autonomy within a flat team structure. You’ll administer Linux servers across a multi-tenant AWS environment, build infrastructure-as-code with Terraform and Ansible, support end-user systems across Windows, Mac and Linux, and work across databases, storage and SaaS platforms. You’ll take ownership of projects independently

as you grow into broader areas of the infrastructure estate.

Key Responsibilities:

• Administer and support Linux servers across a large multi-tenant AWS environment
• Build and maintain infrastructure-as-code using Terraform and Ansible
• Support containerised workloads on AWS ECS and Batch
• Administer databases spanning relational, columnar and NoSQL systems
• Support SaaS tools, video-conferencing, phone systems and storage platforms including SharePoint

Technical Requirements:

• 3-10 years’ experience in Linux server administration combined with production-scale AWS cloud infrastructure
• Real hands‑on experience with Terraform or Ansible used in live infrastructure‑as‑code environments
• Practical experience supporting end‑user systems including Windows, Active Directory, MDM and endpoint management
• Expert‑level scripting ability in Python, Bash or PowerShell
• Production experience managing containerised workloads such as AWS ECS or Batch
• Track record managing projects independently from design through to implementation
