Job summary

Quant Capital in London is seeking a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to own and develop the hedge fund's Windows/Azure infrastructure, including Active Directory, Entra ID and Microsoft 365, in a small in-house tech team.

You will build PowerShell automation, enhance Terraform deployments, and deliver projects spanning cloud, networking, security, backup and disaster recovery, while providing hands-on support to traders and internal users.

Qualifications

• Strong Windows and Microsoft infrastructure engineering experience, including Azure.
• Proven PowerShell scripting and automation skills.
• Infrastructure-as-code and Git experience; Terraform preferred.
• Broad knowledge of networking, virtualization, security and infrastructure troubleshooting.
• Financial services experience, either in-house or through an MSP or consultancy.
• Comfortable owning projects and resolving technical problems independently.

Quant Capital is working with a London-based hedge fund looking for a Senior Infrastructure Engineer to join its small in-house technology team.

You'll work alongside two experienced engineers, taking ownership of infrastructure projects, developing automation and supporting the technology used by traders and developers.

The firm has invested in modernising its infrastructure, utilising Infrastructure-as-Code and other modern tooling.

The role

• Manage and develop Windows Server, Azure, Active Directory, Entra ID and Microsoft 365 infrastructure.
• Build PowerShell automation and improve Terraform-based infrastructure deployments.
• Deliver projects across cloud, networking, virtualisation and infrastructure security.
• Improve endpoint security, patching, backup and disaster recovery.
• Troubleshoot incidents and provide hands-on support to traders and internal users.

What we're looking for

• Strong Windows and Microsoft infrastructure engineering experience, including Azure.
• Proven PowerShell scripting and automation skills.
• Infrastructure-as-code and Git experience. Terraform preferred, although Bicep or similar is relevant.
• Broad knowledge of networking, virtualisation, security and infrastructure troubleshooting.
• Financial services experience, either in-house or through an MSP or consultancy supporting financial clients.
• Comfortable owning projects and resolving technical problems independently.

Experience with Nutanix, Palo Alto, SentinelOne, Kubernetes or Azure DevOps would be useful but isn't essential.

This is an opportunity to take genuine ownership of a hedge fund's infrastructure, influence technical decisions and work across a broad technology environment within a small team.

The role is office-based in the City of London, with shared early/late support coverage and occasional out-of-hours work.
