Job summary

TT Electronics, Barnstaple, is seeking a Systems Design Engineer to join the Design Engineering Team and drive cradle-to-grave product design processes.

You will analyse customer requirements, create system architectures, and support proposals, cost estimates and BOM generation. Proving, compliance documentation and testing support are core duties.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience.
• Demonstrated experience in system engineering of small to medium development projects.
• Familiarisation with core project management administration skills (Gantt charts, etc).
• Knowledge of Solidworks 3-D Mechanical Design Tool and ALTIUM PCB Design Tool.
• Solid, demonstrable experience in management of complex multi-discipline design projects.

Responsibilities

• Analyze customer supplied documentation for requirements capture.
• Produce Design Documentation for initial Systems Requirements Reviews including: Design Specification, System architectural diagrams.
• Support proposals and cost estimates with appropriate functions within the business.
• Generate Bills of Materials within the ERP system.
• Produce Design Proving and Compliance Documentation including Factory Acceptance Test Documents and Design Proving Documentation.
• Support Environmental and EMC Design Proving and Qualification at Test Houses, may involve travel.

Role Overview and Responsibilities

TT Electronics, Barnstaple, is currently hiring for a Systems Design Engineer to join the Design Engineering Team, supporting Cradle To Grave Product Design Processes.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Analysis of customer supplied documentation for requirements capture
• Production of Design Documentation for initial Systems Requirements Reviews including:Design SpecificationSystem architectural diagrams
• Support of proposals and cost estimates, in collaboration with all appropriate functions within the business.
• Generation of Bills of Materials within the company ERP.
• Production of Design Proving and Compliance Documentation including:Factory Acceptance Test DocumentDesign Proving Documentation
• Support of Environmental and EMC Design Proving and Qualification at Test Houses (may include an element of domestic travel)
• Compilation of final Compliance Matrix and Qualification Test Reports

Qualifications, Skills and Attributes

What We Look For:

• A Bachelors degree in a technical discipline, although an HND (or similar) with equivalent experience may be considered
• Demonstrated experience in system engineering of small to medium sized development projects
• Familiarisation of core project management administration skills (gantt charts, etc)

• Solid, demonstrable experience in the system engineering management of complex multi-discipline design projects
