Job summary

TT Electronics, Barnstaple, is hiring a Systems Design Engineer to join the Design Engineering Team and support cradle-to-grave product design processes. You will analyse customer documentation, produce system requirements and architecture, and cooperate across functions to deliver compliant, manufacturable designs.

The role is based on site with opportunities to travel for testing; you will contribute to environmental and EMC testing and generate robust design proofs and documentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline
• Experience in system engineering of small to medium development projects
• Familiarisation with core project management administration skills (Gantt charts)
• Knowledge of SolidWorks 3D and Altium PCB Design Tool
• Demonstrated experience in system engineering management of complex multi-discipline projects

Responsibilities

• Analyse customer documentation to capture requirements
• Create design documentation for System Requirements Reviews
• Develop design specifications and system architecture diagrams
• Generate Bills of Materials in company ERP
• Produce design proving and compliance documentation
• Support environmental, EMC proving and qualification activities
• Compile final compliance matrix and qualification test reports

Role Overview And Responsibilities

TT Electronics, Barnstaple, is currently hiring for a Systems Design Engineer to join the Design Engineering Team, supporting Cradle To Grave Product Design Processes.

Key Responsibilities Include

• Analysis of customer supplied documentation for requirements capture
• Production of Design Documentation for initial Systems Requirements Reviews including: Design Specification System architectural diagrams
• Support of proposals and cost estimates, in collaboration with all appropriate functions within the business.
• Generation of Bills of Materials within the company ERP
• Production of Design Proving and Compliance Documentation including: Factory Acceptance Test Document Design Proving Documentation
• Support of Environmental and EMC Design Proving and Qualification at Test Houses (may include an element of domestic travel)
• Compilation of final Compliance Matrix and Qualification Test Reports

Qualifications, Skills And Attributes

What We Look For

• A Bachelors degree in a technical discipline, although an HND (or similar) with equivalent experience may be considered
• Demonstrated experience in system engineering of small to medium sized development projects
• Familiarisation of core project management administration skills (gantt charts, etc)
• Knowledge of Solidworks 3-D Mechanical Design Tool and ALTIUM PCB Design Tool
• Solid, demonstrable experience in the system engineering management of complex multi-discipline design projects
