Job summary

West Sussex County Council is seeking a Systems and Data Lead to strengthen the Systems Development Team within the Business Assurance Group that serves the Highways, Transport and Planning Directorate.

The role focuses on developing, maintaining and integrating core management systems, with GIS and data-driven decision support at the fore, and offers hybrid working from County Hall, Chichester.

Qualifications

• Experience deploying and developing operational systems in the public sector.
• Demonstrable GIS experience and data integration capabilities.
• Degree or equivalent qualification in highways, systems, data or asset management.
• Experience delivering training and support on specific systems to colleagues.
• Experience mentoring, supervising or task managing others.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day supervision within the Systems Development Team.
• Provide guidance and training to staff to ensure system compliance and process improvements.
• Ensure systems meet current and future needs of the directorate and streamline processes.
• Lead maintenance, development and continuous improvement of core management systems.
• Lead projects to enhance how data, GIS and business systems support decision-making.
