This public sector organisation is currently seeking an experienced Systems Accountant to join their team on a two-year fixed-term contract. This role will be pivotal in managing and maintaining the financial management systems for the organisation, from ensuring the integrity of financial data and supporting various departments with financial reporting and analysis, to contributing to the maintenance of a balanced budget.

The key duties of this Systems Accountant role are as follows:

• Oversee and maintain the organisation’s financial systems, ensuring accurate data entry and reconciliation of the general ledger and related modules.
• Collaborate with senior management to produce financial reports, dashboards, and enquiries, optimizing the use of financial systems for efficiency.
• Lead the administration and development of financial software, including the design of interfaces and custom scripts.
• Provide training and support to staff on financial management systems, ensuring users are proficient and access is appropriately managed.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the Finance Service, enhancing system efficiency and processes.

• Professionally qualified as an Accountant (CCAB) or with AAT, with relevant skills and experience.
• Experience in implementing financial systems, designing controls and processes, and conducting tests.
