Job summary

Recruit Mint Ltd is seeking a meticulous System Test Engineer to ensure mission-critical communications systems meet customer and factory acceptance requirements. You will test, integrate and document complete customer systems, coordinate across engineering, production and planning, and drive fault resolution to ensure readiness before shipment.

This role demands hands-on testing discipline, clear communication with customers, and the ability to manage multiple milestones across the project

Qualifications

• Testing electronic communications systems, especially VHF/UHF ground-to-air links.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.
• Willing to obtain BPSS clearance.
• Able to communicate face-to-face with customers.
• A-levels or HNC in relevant field.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Factory Acceptance Tests and resolve technical queries.
• Prepare and maintain FAT documentation, reports and test records.
• Integrate, configure and test customer systems and cabinets.
• Coordinate with engineering, production and planning to get systems ready for test/delivery.
• Identify, troubleshoot and record faults; drive issues to resolution.
• Manage system readiness risks and communicate impacts to stakeholders.
• Carry out safety testing on equipment and cabinets.
• Support order fulfilment, including kit marshalling and inventory audits.
• Keep technical documentation up to date; manage workload to milestones.

System Test Engineer

Be the last line of assurance before mission-critical communications systems reach the customer.

This is a System Test Engineer role with an established manufacturer, ensuring systems are right before they ship.

As a System Test Engineer you will make sure that system designs meet the customer's requirements and are ready for factory acceptance testing, for an established manufacturer of mission-critical communications equipment for the aviation and defence sectors. You will integrate, configure and test complete customer systems, run Factory Acceptance Tests, and drive any faults or technical queries through to resolution. Working across engineering, production, purchasing and planning, you will be the person who confirms a system is genuinely ready, right down to the last detail, before it goes out of the door. Job Responsibilities

• Conducting Factory Acceptance Tests and resolving technical queries and issues

• Coordinating with engineering, production, purchasing, planning and other teams to get systems ready for test and delivery

• Managing system readiness risks and communicating potential impacts to stakeholders
• Carrying out safety testing on equipment and cabinets
• Supporting order fulfilment, including kit marshalling and inventory audits
• Keeping technical documentation and customer handbooks accurate and up to date
• Managing your workload to meet project milestones and customer deadlines

Skills and Experience

• A-Levels in Maths and a Science, or an HNC in an electrical or electronic engineering subject
• Experience testing electronic communications systems, ideally VHF and UHF ground-to-air communication systems
• Good IT literacy, particularly in MS Office
• The confidence to communicate face-to-face with customers
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• A customer-focused and flexible approach
• The ability to obtain and maintain Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance

Pay and Benefits

• Circa £40,000 salary
• Flexitime on a 37.5-hour week, with core hours between 09:30 and 15:00
