Job summary

Recruit Mint Ltd is seeking a System Test Engineer to ensure mission-critical communications systems meet customer requirements before factory acceptance testing. You will integrate, configure and test complete customer systems, run FAT, and drive faults to resolution, coordinating with engineering, production and planning teams.

You will possess A-Levels (Maths/Science) or an HNC in electronics, experience with electronic comms testing, and strong IT literacy.

Qualifications

• A-Levels Maths and a Science or an HNC in electrical/electronic engineering.
• Experience testing electronic comms systems, ideally VHF/UHF.
• Good IT literacy, MS Office and documentation skills.
• Able to communicate clearly with customers and stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Conduct Factory Acceptance Tests and resolve technical queries.
• Prepare FAT documentation, reports and test records.

Job description

System Test Engineer

Be the last line of assurance before mission-critical communications systems reach the customer.

This is a System Test Engineer role with an established manufacturer, ensuring systems are right before they ship.

As a System Test Engineer you will make sure that system designs meet the customer's requirements and are ready for factory acceptance testing, for an established manufacturer of mission-critical communications equipment for the aviation and defence sectors. You will integrate, configure and test complete customer systems, run Factory Acceptance Tests, and drive any faults or technical queries through to resolution. Working across engineering, production, purchasing and planning, you will be the person who confirms a system is genuinely ready, right down to the last detail, before it goes out of the door. Job Responsibilities

• Conducting Factory Acceptance Tests and resolving technical queries and issues
• Preparing and maintaining FAT documentation, reports and test records
• Integrating, configuring and testing customer systems, cabinets, databases and third-party equipment
• Coordinating with engineering, production, purchasing, planning and other teams to get systems ready for test and delivery
• Identifying, troubleshooting and recording faults, driving issues through to resolution
• Managing system readiness risks and communicating potential impacts to stakeholders
• Carrying out safety testing on equipment and cabinets
• Supporting order fulfilment, including kit marshalling and inventory audits
• Keeping technical documentation and customer handbooks accurate and up to date
• Managing your workload to meet project milestones and customer deadlines

Skills and Experience

• A-Levels in Maths and a Science, or an HNC in an electrical or electronic engineering subject
• Experience testing electronic communications systems, ideally VHF and UHF ground-to-air communication systems
• Good IT literacy, particularly in MS Office
• The confidence to communicate face-to-face with customers
• Excellent oral and written communication skillsA customer-focused and flexible approach
• The ability to obtain and maintain Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance

Pay and Benefits

• Circa £40,000 salary
• Flexitime on a 37.5-hour week, with core hours between 09:30 and 15:00
