Recruit Mint Ltd is seeking a meticulous Product Test Engineer to join a growing test team. You will carry out product performance testing on the communications equipment built for mission-critical systems in aviation and defence, ensuring everything meets project requirements and internal procedures before sign-off.

Working with a small development team, you will set up test equipment, run structured tests, document results, and feed findings back for continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Experience in a product test, verification or development test role in electronics/communications environment.
• A relevant engineering qualification (HNC or above in electronic/electrical engineering).
• Methodical, detail-focused approach to testing and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Carry out product performance testing to meet project requirements.

Product Test Engineer

Make sure mission-critical communications equipment performs exactly as it should, before it ever reaches the customer.

This is a Product Test Engineer role with an established manufacturer, joining a growing test team.

As a Product Test Engineer you will carry out product performance testing on the communications equipment built by an established manufacturer of mission-critical systems for the aviation and defence sectors. Working as part of a small, close-knit development team, you will test products against project requirements and in line with internal engineering and quality procedures, making sure every detail is right before anything is signed off. The test team is growing to support several high-value contracts, so you will play a real part in getting important products out of the door to the standard they demand. Job Responsibilities

• Carrying out product performance testing to meet project requirements
• Testing communications products in line with internal engineering and quality procedures
• Working as part of a small development team to verify products against specification
• Setting up test equipment and carrying out structured, repeatable test procedures
• Recording test results accurately and producing clear test documentation and reports
• Investigating test failures and supporting fault diagnosis with the engineering team
• Feeding findings and improvement opportunities back into the development process

Skills and Experience

• Experience in a product test, verification or development test role, ideally in an electronics or communications environment
• A relevant engineering qualification, such as an HNC or above in electronic or electrical engineering, or equivalent experience
• A methodical, detail-focused approach to testing and documentation
• The ability to set up and use test equipment and follow defined test procedures
• Good fault-finding and problem-solving skills
• The ability to interpret specifications, drawings and test requirements
• Clear communication skills and the ability to work well within a small team
• An appreciation of RF or communications equipment, which is desirable
• The ability to obtain and maintain UK Government security clearance
