Job summary

Electus Recruitment Solutions is seeking an experienced Electronics Test Engineer to own testing strategy as products move from development into production. You will diagnose complex test issues, develop test specs and supporting docs, and work with engineering, manufacturing and operations across the lifecycle.

The role requires hybrid working in Hertfordshire with regular on-site attendance and a clearance suitable for the defence sector.

Qualifications

• HNC/HND/degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline.
• Significant experience in electronics manufacture, test and fault finding.
• Strong understanding of electrical, electronic and RF measurement principles.
• Experience supporting product development lifecycles within a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to prioritise multiple technical activities and deliver against project objectives.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience producing technical reports and instructions.
• Able to obtain and maintain high levels of security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of introducing and testing new systems from development to production readiness.
• Diagnose and resolve electrical/electronic test issues at system, sub-assembly and PCB levels.
• Develop test specifications, operator instructions and supporting technical docs.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing and operations to overcome challenges.

• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to less experienced engineers.

Location and setup

Hybrid working in Hertfordshire, with regular on-site attendance required due to the nature of the work.

What you will be doing

• Develop test specifications, operator instructions and supporting technical documentation
• Work closely with engineering, manufacturing and operational teams to overcome technical challenges
• Contribute to production readiness activities and ensure appropriate configuration control is maintained
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to less experienced engineers

Skills and background

• HNC, HND, degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant engineering discipline

Essential requirements

• Able to obtain and maintainhigh levels of security clearance
• Strong background in electronic test engineering covering digital, analogue and RF technologies
• Experience supporting products through development and manufacturing environments
• Proven capability with manual and automated test systems
• Able to produce technical documentation and communicate effectively with technical stakeholders

Salary and rewards

A base salary in excess of £50,000 depending on experience, with added benefits, including:
