Job description

Seize this opportunity as a Systems Test Engineer with Hitachi Energy UK. As an experienced power systems engineer, you’ll work in both conceptual and detailed design engineering environments, providing engineering solutions to the end customer.

You’ll develop and direct the preparation and execution of comprehensive test plans, manage procedures and schedules for completing systems, coordinate integrated testing activities, and review and evaluate test requirements to ensure the test program is completed. Additionally, you will perform technical analysis of complete systems and prepare comprehensive system-level evaluations. The Role:

• Represent PSAC on matters associated with protection engineering.
• Provide technical support to protection team members, sales, and tendering teams.
• Act as a focal point for customer approval activities such as Type Registration and project-specific design freezes.
• Support evaluation of customer requirements and respond to technical queries during project delivery.
• Ensure compliance with protection systems design and business processes/procedures.
• Prepare documentation including technical specifications, reports, diagrams, test specifications, IED configurations, and design drawings.
• Participate in internal kick-off meetings to share experience and knowledge from the start of projects.
• Engage in conceptual and detailed design engineering, providing solutions to the end customer.
• Drive engineering timescales to minimize delays and ensure high-quality standards throughout project delivery.

Your Background:

• Power Systems engineering education or equivalent qualification (HNC or BTEC minimum).
• Strong design and coordination experience in Power Systems engineering.
• High technical expertise, including awareness of 2nd injection test sets.
• Excellent communication skills for internal teams and customers.
• Experience within the Electricity Supply Industry.
• Proven teamwork and collaboration skills.
