Amazon MSP (Mechatronics and Sustainable Packaging) is seeking a motivated and hands-on Test Engineer to join the Design and Test team. This team is a multi-disciplinary environment of design leaders and test engineers dedicated to advancing the knowledge of automation and how millions of customer orders are fulfilled every day. The test engineer is responsible for creating and executing test programs, plans, and methods for subsystem verification tests and complete system verification and validation tests to support new technology and product development programs. The test engineer will collaborate with hardware, electrical, and controls development engineers, technical operations, and solutions engineering teams to define, execute, and report on verification and validation tests.

Key job responsibilities

1. Develop and execute test plans for mechanical, electrical, and control systems
2. Perform functional, integration, and acceptance testing of automation equipment
3. Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
4. Troubleshoot and resolve issues in mechanical, electrical, and control systems
5. Document test results and recommend design improvements

About the team

The ANR10 test and design team is responsible for defining and implementing an appropriate development process for mechatronic systems. This includes stakeholder requirements elicitation, system requirement and architecture definition, leading mechatronic system design, and ensuring system functionalities meet customer requirements through design validation and system verification tests.

Minimum qualifications

• Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Controls, Mechatronics, or Automation Engineering
• Experience testing industrial automation or packaging machinery
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• Experience with testing equipment, processes, and standards
• Proficiency in English; Flemish/Dutch is a plus
• Deep knowledge and experience in writing and executing test processes for complex mechatronic and automation systems
• Strong knowledge of PLC systems (e.g., Siemens, Beckhoff, Rockwell, Codesys) and industrial protocols (EtherCAT, Modbus)
• Good knowledge of LV & HV industrial electrical panels and safety standards
• Experience with software packages such as Teamcenter, Polarion, E-plan
