Systems Engineering Manager – Off-Highway Machinery

About the Role

This role focuses on hydraulic and electrohydraulic system development for off-highway machinery, working closely with OEMs in construction, agriculture, and material handling. You will manage system engineering projects, customer requirements, and cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Technical Leadership
    1. Lead the design, integration, and validation of hydraulic and electrohydraulic systems for OEMs.
    2. Develop next-generation control systems for improved efficiency and performance.
    3. Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.
    4. Oversee engineering teams developing fluid power and control solutions.
    5. Manage custom system solutions for OEM clients.
    6. Provide technical support to sales and business development teams.
  2. Strategic & Operational Leadership
    1. Drive continuous improvement and innovation in system design.
    2. Manage project timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
    3. Lead and mentor a team of engineers.

Key Requirements

  1. Experience: 5+ years in hydraulic systems, fluid power, or mobile machinery engineering, with team leadership experience.
  2. Industry Background: Experience with JCB, Caterpillar, Volvo CE, Komatsu, or similar preferred.
  3. Technical Knowledge: Expertise in hydraulic circuits, electrohydraulic controls, and system integration.
  4. Customer Engagement: Ability to work directly with OEM clients.
  5. Education: Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Fluid Power, or similar.
  6. Travel: UK and international travel as required.
