Job summary

Solutions Engineering Recruitment is seeking an experienced Hydraulic Engineer for a Wakefield workshop. You will test hydraulic equipment on test rigs, assemble HPUs, fit pipes, and service client sites with on-site visits as required.

Applicants should understand hydraulics, be able to read schematics, fault-find effectively and hold a full UK driving licence. Travel to client sites and teamwork are essential to success in this role.

Qualifications

• Experience with HPU and component assembly.
• Understanding of hydraulics, pumps, valves, cylinders and their applications.
• Able to read schematic drawings.
• Previous hydraulic experience (systems and components).
• Able to fault find effectively.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Willing to travel to clients’ sites and potentially stay away.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Confident working alone and in a wider team.

Responsibilities

• Hose manufacturing, flushing and testing.
• Building and testing HPUs based on required drawings and specifications.
• Stripping and assessing hydraulic components.

• Understanding clients’ systems to ensure fault finding is doable.

Job description

My client is a UK leading provider of Hydraulic Systems, power units and a distributor of components. With a proven track record of using quality brands and providing outstanding engineering services they are looking to now add to their Engineering team. Due to growth, they are looking for an experienced Hydraulic Engineer. This role requires you to have experience or knowledge of industrial/hydraulic engineering which will allow you to work closely with onsite Design and Sales teams as well as being customer facing when on client sites.

Hydraulic Engineer

Workshop located in Wakefield – Client site visits will be required.

£36,000 - £38,000 (DOE), Monday – Friday, company pension, 25 days holiday plus Bank Holidays, pension, pool vans available, Overtime paid at 1.5 and 2.0.

Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
