Job summary

IC Resources is seeking Systems Engineers at multiple levels for a defence programme, primarily on-site with hybrid options in Reading. You will contribute to design, delivery and support of secure enterprise infrastructure across critical platforms under strict regulatory controls.

Ideal candidates have experience with VMware, infrastructure automation, container platforms, AD/Entra ID, storage and DR. Clearances and UK eligibility apply; role offers long-term contracts and DOE rates.

Qualifications

• Experience engineering or managing enterprise infrastructure in regulated environments.
• Proficiency with VMware/virtualisation technologies and modern automation tooling.
• Exposure to container platforms (Kubernetes/OpenShift) and identity services (AD/Entra ID).
• Knowledge of storage, backup, and disaster recovery fundamentals.

Responsibilities

• Design, deliver and support secure enterprise infrastructure for critical platforms.
• Contribute to infrastructure automation and configuration management.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet regulatory and security requirements.

Systems Engineers (Multiple Levels) – Defence | Hybrid | Reading

Inside IR35 | Rate DOE due to multiple roles

We're supporting a major defence technology programme looking to build out its Infrastructure & Platform Engineering team, with opportunities available for Systems Engineers, Senior Systems Engineers and Principal / Technical Leads.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work on the design, delivery and support of secure enterprise infrastructure supporting critical engineering and digital platforms within a highly regulated environment.

We're keen to speak with engineers who have experience in areas such as:

• VMware / Virtualisation
• Infrastructure Automation (PowerShell, Python, Terraform or Ansible)
• Kubernetes or OpenShift (Infrastructure administration)
• Active Directory / Entra ID
• Storage, Backup & Disaster Recovery

Suitable backgrounds include:

• Technical Lead / Principal Infrastructure Engineer
