Job summary

RC Fornax is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer to join our Reading-based team on a hybrid basis. You will design, deploy, and maintain enterprise infrastructure across Azure and on-premises environments, ensuring reliable operations and secure configurations.

You will work with Kubernetes/OpenShift, IaC tools, and scripting to automate tasks, support Windows and Linux systems, and optimize cloud and data center resources.

Qualifications

• Experience designing, deploying and maintaining enterprise infrastructure across Azure and on-premises environments.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft Azure services and cloud infrastructure.
• Experience supporting hybrid cloud and on-premises environments.
• Experience with virtualisation technologies such as VMware or Hyper‑V.
• Understanding of networking technologies including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPNs, firewalls, routing, and load balancing.
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code and automation tools such as Terraform, Ansible, ARM Templates, or Bicep.
• Scripting experience using PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar technologies.
• Understanding of security best practices, access management, and secure infrastructure principles.
• Defence, Aerospace, MOD, or other highly regulated industry experience highly desirable.
