Job summary

Anglian Water is seeking a Technician – Support Services (Procurement) in Huntingdon. The role involves handling SAP-based procurement tasks, managing contracts for lab chemicals and equipment, and ensuring efficient ordering processes.

You will be the first point of contact for ordering queries, support vendor relationships, and generate spend reports. The position offers a permanent, full-time opportunity with 37 hours per week and a salary circa £28,080 dependent on skills and experience.

Qualifications

• Able to communicate with people at all levels.
• Reliable and committed.
• Excellent first point of contact for queries and payments.
• Ideally SAP trained.
• Able to prioritise effectively.
• Accurate data input into databases and spreadsheets.
• Confident telephone manner.
• Understanding of a Laboratory environment.

Responsibilities

• Procurement activities including SAP ordering, monitoring of temporary staff contracts/orders, and day to day operation of contracts for the supply of lab chemicals and equipment
• Ensure efficiencies in ordering and looking at internal processes where needed for improvement
• Be the first point of contact to deal with any enquiries relating to ordering or delivery of goods and / or services
• Maintain SAP in line with training and guidance
• Vendor management and contact where required
• Reports for key vendors and spend management
• Look at KPIs and help troubleshoot bottleneck areas
• Provide support to the Operational Support Manager by: Deal with general lab service queries, Ensure all visitors to site are signed in and supervised during their visit, Prepare meeting rooms and ensure all consumables are available, Make staff aware of deliveries
