Summary

As a Syndicate Senior Accountant, you will be responsible for the production and delivery of Lloyd’s financial returns, other financial regulatory and compliance returns to Lloyd’s, FCA/PRA, or equivalent, and group reporting. You will work closely with the wider Everest Insurance finance team to build systems that extract relevant data and include it in the core market returns.

You should be a qualified Accountant with experience in the insurance industry, well-versed in syndicate reporting, and experienced in system implementations.

Key responsibilities:
  1. Design and build systems, analysis tools, and spreadsheets to extract data from underwriting and financial systems and upload into the core market returns.
  2. Produce and deliver Lloyd’s returns and other applicable financial regulatory and compliance returns according to the Lloyd’s and FCA/PRA timetables.
  3. Complete US/CAD trust fund returns.
  4. Assist in producing syndicate and related entity financial results and annual reports.
  5. Assist in producing other annual reports and accounts for associated Everest syndicate companies.
  6. Design and implement key controls over the financial reporting process.
  7. Undertake project work, including developing new processes and implementing change.
  8. Contribute to successful audit outcomes by internal and external auditors.
  9. Reconcile syndicate ledgers, including cashbooks to bank accounts, regulatory, and situs funds.
  10. Process technical and non-technical accounting ledger entries, invoices, and bank payments.
Qualifications, Education & Experience:
  • Experience working in the insurance industry.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Lloyd’s market, the financial and regulatory landscape, and core market returns and reporting forms required by Lloyd’s (and FCA/PRA where applicable).
  • Strong system skills (Excel, GL, etc.) to extract relevant data and present it within Lloyd’s returns.
  • Ability to analyze and self-audit forms, liaising with underwriting teams to verify data.
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to interact at all levels.
  • Project management, prioritization, and time management skills.
