Butlin’s is seeking a Swimming Pool Assistant Manager in Skegness to lead daily pool operations, ensure safety, and deliver exceptional guest experiences. You’ll supervise lifeguards, plan rotas, maintain water quality, and support poolside programming while upholding PSOP and health and safety standards.

You will play a key role in recruitment, training, and ensuring a positive, inclusive team culture. The role requires availability for evenings/weekends and a calm, proactive leadership style.

Responsabilités

• Operational Management: Support daily operation of all pool and water feature areas, ensure lifeguard coverage, plan rotas, monitor cleanliness and water quality, respond to issues, support poolside activities.
• Health, Safety & Compliance: Ensure PSOP/H&S compliance, conduct risk assessments, monitor water testing, support emergency procedures and staff qualifications.
• Team Leadership: Supervise lifeguards, provide coaching, assist recruitment and onboarding, manage shift briefings and maintain clear communication.
• Guest Experience: Ensure welcoming environment, handle guest queries, monitor feedback and support improvements.
• Administration & Planning: Manage stock for pool chemicals/equipment, assist budgets, maintain training/incidents records, coordinate with facilities, deputise for Pool Manager.

Description

The Assistant Manager for Splash will support the day-to-day management & operation of the resort swimming pool and water-based facilities, ensuring a safe, clean and engaging environment for guests & team.

The Splash Assistant Manager leads the frontline team, maintains compliance with health and safety standards, and helps deliver a high-quality guest experience in line with brand expectations.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Management

• Support the daily operation of all pool and water feature areas.
• Ensure adequate lifeguard and team coverage across all operating hours.
• Assist in planning rotas aligned to occupancy and demand.
• Monitor poolside standards including cleanliness, water quality and presentation.
• Respond quickly to operational issues to minimise disruption.
• Support delivery of poolside activities, sessions and guest experiences.

Health, Safety & Compliance

• Ensure full compliance with pool safety operating procedures (PSOP) and H&S legislation.
• Carry out and review risk assessments and safe systems of work.
• Monitor water testing regimes and ensure records are maintained.
• Support emergency response procedures and incident management.
• Ensure all team members hold valid qualifications and training.
• Support audits, inspections and compliance checks.

Team Leadership

• Supervise and support lifeguards and pool team members on shift.
• Provide coaching, training and performance feedback.
• Support recruitment, onboarding and ongoing training.
• Manage shift briefings and ensure clear communication.
• Address day-to-day people issues and escalade where required.
• Promote a positive, inclusive and safety-first culture.

Guest Experience

• Ensure a welcoming, safe and enjoyable environment for all guests.
• Support delivery of poolside activities and resort programming.
• Handle guest queries and complaints professionally.
• Monitor guest feedback and support improvements.

Administration & Planning
