Job summary

South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture are seeking a motivated Swimming Assistant to join the team at Strathaven Leisure Centre on a fixed-term basis. Hours: 7 per week with a pattern across Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays; hourly rate £17.12–£17.33.

The role supports Swim Teachers and delivers the Swimming Development Programme, requiring SSTQ or UKCC Level 2 Teaching Aquatics, with overseas checks where required.

Qualifications

• SSTQ or UKCC Level 2 certificate required.
• NPLQ/Pool Rescue desirable; candidates can work towards one.

Responsibilities

• Monitor, review and manage swimming teachers/coaches.
• Provide customer care to high standards within the swim programme.
• Deliver the Swimming Development Programme and support Swim Officers.
