Job summary

South Lanarkshire Leisure and Culture SCIO is seeking a motivated Swimming Assistant for Strathaven Leisure Centre. The role supports the Swim Officer and helps deliver the Swimming Development Programme, teaching and developing lessons for varied abilities and ages.

You must hold SSTQ or UKCC Level 2 Teaching Aquatics; NPLQ or Pool Rescue is desirable. Hours are 7 per week at £17.12-£17.33 per hour, on a fixed-term until 31 March 2027, with flexible hours to suit a broad programme.

Qualifications

• Monitor, review and manage swimming teachers / coaches.
• Administrative and management information in relation to the swim programme.
• Provide customer care to high standards as defined within the business plan and site procedures.
• Follow continuous improvement principles and apply to the swimming scheme.
• Deliver the Swimming Development Programme.

Responsibilities

• Deliver the Swimming Development Programme.
• Support the Swim Officer and deputise when appropriate.
• Assist in teaching swimming to a variety of abilities and age groups.
