Job summary

Durham County Council are seeking enthusiastic Swim Teachers to join a team across multiple leisure centres in Durham. Roles include permanent posts with 5.5, 3.5, and casual hours, with a mix of day, evening and weekend shifts.

Salary ranges from £27,274 to £29,542 pro rata, with a generous rewards package including local government pension, and potential hybrid working where applicable.

Qualifications

• Swim England Level 2 or STA Level 2 Qualifications.
• Must work towards RLSS National Pool Lifeguard Qualification or National Rescue Award within 6 months of employment.
• Able to inspire others to learn swimming as a vital life skill.

Responsibilities

• Teach swimming to children and adults across Durham County Council leisure centres.
• Promote safety and ensure high standards of supervision and care.

5.5 hours permanent post - Woodhouse close
3.5 hours permanent post - Newton Aycliffe
Casual hours - Louisa Centre
Casual hours - Chester le Street
Casual hours / Contracted Hours available. Contracted hours are negotiable - Freemans Quay

Durham County Council teach over 4000 children to swim, we have amazing teachers that teach these children a life skill and we are looking to expand our team across the county.

WHAT WILL I NEED?

• Swim England Level 2 or STA Level 2 Qualifications
