Job summary

Wiltshire Council is seeking casual Swimming Teachers to join our Aquatic team at Wilcot Road, Pewsey. You will teach safe, engaging classes and 1-1 tuition, supporting community health. The role requires a Swim England Level 2 qualification (or a plan to complete Level 2 if starting from Level 1) and experience teaching children in a leisure setting.

Qualifications

  • Level 2 Swim England qualification or equivalent; experience teaching children in a leisure environment.
  • If not Level 2, a Level 1 qualification with a confirmed plan to complete Level 2.

Responsibilities

  • Teach safe, fun, effective and enjoyable swimming classes as part of a programme or 1-1 tuition.
  • Support flexible, casual hours with no fixed schedule, in line with Wiltshire Council requirements.
  • Promote health and wellbeing through swimming and maintain safety and inclusivity.

Job description

Salary:£17.99 - £19.22 per hour (inclusive of a 10% market supplement)

Our Swimming Teachers are a vital part of our team. They teach safe, fun, effective and enjoyable classes as part of a swimming programme or 1-1 tuition environments.

With a level 2 or above Swim England swimming teacher qualification or equivalent, you should have experience of teaching children within a leisure environment. If you do not hold a level 2 or above Swim England swimming teacher qualification may be considered for the postif you hold a minimum of a level 1 qualification and can evidence that you are booked onto a level 2 course to complete your qualification.

As a casual worker, you'll have no fixed hours and will work on an as-needed basis, depending on Wiltshire Council's requirements and your availability. You are not obligated to be available, and the Council is not obliged to offer you work.
