Aqua Artes is a unique swim school prioritizing inclusion and accessibility. We offer 1-to-1 and 2-to-1 age skill matched swimming lessons in above ground endless pools. Our approach focuses on relaxation and flotation to build a solid foundation, emphasizing the concept that "swimming is floating while moving".

Opened in September 2021, our purpose-built swim centre caters to all children, including those with additional needs, in a quiet, accessible environment. We tailor lessons to individual needs, teaching dynamically and fostering positive, trusting relationships with our swimmers, some of whom have been with us since opening.

The founder brings over 20 years of teaching experience, including work in SEN schools, competitive swimming, and swim instruction.

Role Description

This is a part-time, on-site Swim Instructor role based in Lindfield, near Haywards Heath, at Aqua Artes Swim School Ltd.

The Swim Instructor will deliver swimming lessons, set up and tidy equipment, and participate in a 10-minute team clean-up of the shared pool area at the end of each day.

We seek a reliable individual with a good sense of humor, punctuality, a proactive attitude, excellent interpersonal and communication skills, and the ability to work with students of all ages and skill levels.

Additional hours may be available in the future, including the possibility of a full-time position for the right candidate.

Qualifications

• Level 2 STA or Swim England swim teaching certificate with at least two years of experience
• Teacher rescue certification
• First Aid certification
• Strong swimming ability and understanding of swimming mechanics
• If lacking teaching or coaching experience, a background working with neurodiverse children and a willingness to learn are essential
