Job summary

Arup offers a 10–12‑month placement internship in the UK, shadowing an experienced structural engineer and assisting on projects across transport, commercial, education, healthcare and science & industry.

You will learn the craft of structural engineering, carry out calculations, modelling and design, and communicate via drawings, BIM and reports while working with a supportive team to progress toward professional qualification.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in General, Civil, Structural, Design or Architectural Engineering at 2.1 or above.
• Studying or having studied an ICE accredited course.
• A genuine passion for structural engineering.

Responsibilities

• Carry out structural calculations, modelling, engineering and hand/ computer analysis.
• Design solutions that are economical, practical and low carbon, building models to monitor behaviour.
• Communicate through drawings, sketches, BIM, documents, meetings, emails and reports.
• Collaborate with teams, take and give instructions, problem-solve and learn from peers.
