Job summary

The Sussex Community NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a fixed term 12-month Lead Specialist for Sustainability & Environment to deliver sustainability and net zero strategies for the Trust and partner NHS organisations within the Sussex and Surrey Integrated Care System. You will work in a multi-disciplinary team to lead sustainability initiatives and advise on external opportunities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver sustainability and net zero programmes within SCFT and partner NHS organisations.
• Develop and implement Green Plans in line with net zero targets and NHSE guidance.
• Develop and maintain sustainability reporting systems including carbon footprint reporting and KPIs.
• Support development of a Climate Change Adaptation Strategy for the Trust and partner trusts.
• Develop sustainability strategy with Head of Environmental Services and identify external commercial opportunities.
• Implement key sustainability projects.
• Collaborate with the team across other sustainability areas.
