Job summary

Nuclear Transport Solutions is seeking an experienced Environmental and Sustainability Manager to promote a positive environmental culture across the organisation. You will support and develop our Sustainability Strategy, ensure compliance with environmental standards, and drive continuous improvement across NTS and the supply chain.

Qualifications

• Degree in an environmental-related discipline.
• Practitioner Membership of IEMA (or working towards).
• Strong ISO 14001 knowledge is essential.
• Ability to build effective working relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Experience in environmental auditing and assurance activities (desirable).
• Knowledge of investigation techniques, including root cause analysis (desirable).
• Ability to analyse data and identify trends to drive performance improvements (desirable).
• Experience in improving processes and driving environmental performance (desirable).

Responsibilities

• Support the development and ongoing review of the NTS Sustainability Strategy, Carbon Management Plan, and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) performance
• Ensure environmental processes and procedures meet required standards and compliance obligations
• Support the development and tracking of the environmental audit schedule
• Deliver environmental awareness training across the business
• Undertake auditing and assurance activities to ensure compliance by NTS employees, contractors, and supply chain partners
• Monitor and track corrective actions, ensuring timely and effective close-out
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of the NTS Management System
• Provide advice and support to managers and functional leads on environmental mattersRepresent the Nuclear & Assurance function in meetings with customers, regulators, and professional bodies
• Communicate environmental performance, risks, and key topics across the organisation
• Maintain awareness of good practice within the nuclear rail and shipping industries
