Job summary

Burnley College is seeking a Sustainability Co-ordinator to support the development, implementation and delivery of sustainability initiatives across the College, including energy use, waste management and biodiversity.

You will monitor data, coordinate projects, promote sustainable practices among staff and students, and help embed the College's Sustainability Strategy while ensuring compliance with environmental legislation.

Qualifications

  • Experience in sustainability coordination or environmental compliance.
  • Ability to monitor energy use, waste management and carbon footprint.
  • Strong data analysis and reporting skills.

Job description

Due to our continued commitment to environmental sustainability and climate action, we are seeking a Sustainability Co-ordinator to support the development, implementation and delivery of sustainability initiatives across the College.

As a Sustainability Co-ordinator, you will play a key role in helping the College reduce its environmental impact through monitoring energy use, waste management, recycling, transport emissions and resource efficiency. You will support the delivery of the College’s Sustainability Strategy, coordinate carbon reduction initiatives, promote sustainable practices and engage staff and students in creating a positive environmental culture.

The role will involve analysing and reporting sustainability data, maintaining action plans, supporting environmental compliance and audits, coordinating sustainability projects, developing awareness campaigns, and working collaboratively across the College to embed sustainability into everyday operations. You will also help identify opportunities to improve biodiversity, reduce carbon emissions and enhance the College estate while ensuring compliance with relevant environmental legislation and best practice.

The salary for this post is up to £31,266
