Job summary

GLASGOW CITY COUNCIL AND ARMS LENGTH ORGANISATION is seeking a Surveyor within the Investment Team to deliver surveys, layouts, and documentation for kitchen, bathroom, window and related refurbishment projects. You will work closely with customers, contractors and internal colleagues to ensure high-quality design and installation outcomes.

The role reports to the Investment Manager and involves site attendance, production of technical documentation, and handover to RSBI for manufacture.

Qualifications

• You will preferably have a joinery background with experience in window and door replacement, kitchen and bathroom renewals, and general building refurbishment projects.
• You will have proven experience carrying out property surveys and a strong understanding of surveying practices, technical drawings and layouts.
• You will have excellent communication, interpersonal and analytical skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with customers, clients and colleagues.
• You will be highly organised, possess strong IT skills, and be able to effectively manage competing priorities while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
• You will demonstrate a commitment to delivering excellent customer service, work effectively on your own initiative and as part of a team, and be adaptable to changing business needs.
• A full driving licence is essential for this role. A HNC in Construction Management or Building Surveying or equivalent is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Undertake property surveys and produce accurate drawings and layouts.
• Support the progression of kitchen and window replacement projects from survey through manufacture and installation.
• Translate surveys into City Building’s internal design format and submit to RSBI for manufacture.
• Provide excellent customer service and maintain accurate records.
• Collaborate with colleagues to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and on time.
• Flexibility to support multiple investment programmes as priorities evolve.
