Job summary

Cappagh Browne is seeking an experienced Survey & Discovery Supervisor to join the Clean Rivers & Seas team in Falmer, UK. You will supervise survey crews, coordinate resources, and provide technical guidance to ensure safe, high-quality delivery on water infrastructure projects.

Key responsibilities include managing property surveys, dye testing, chamber surveys, and connectivity investigations, while ensuring compliance with health and safety and client expectations across multiple locations.

Qualifications

• Experience supervising survey, site investigation, or operational crews in water/utilities sector.
• Knowledge of drainage and sewer networks, including connectivity investigations.
• Experience carrying out property surveys, dye testing, and chamber surveys.
• Understanding of NRSWA requirements, traffic management, and safe highway working practices.
• Strong leadership, communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to interpret drawings, GIS mapping, survey information, and project data.
• Valid UK Driving Licence, CSCS/ECS Card, NRSWA Supervisor qualification, and EUSR National Water Hygiene (Blue Card).

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering essential survey and discovery activities that support major water infrastructure programmes and help improve environmental outcomes for local communities., As a Survey & Discovery Supervisor, you will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision of survey crews, ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. Acting as the vital link between operational teams in the field and the office-based project team, you will coordinate resources, monitor productivity, support programme delivery, and provide technical guidance to survey operatives. You will oversee activities including property surveys, dye testing, chamber surveys, and connectivity investigations, whilst ensuring all work complies with company procedures, health and safety requirements, and client expectations. The role also involves conducting site inspections, resolving operational issues, supporting the development of field teams, maintaining accurate project records, and ensuring survey data is completed accurately and submitted on time.
