Surgical Ward and Procedures Nurse – Bristol Veterinary Specialists – Avonmouth, Bristol

Are you an RVN with a particular interest in surgical ward nursing and/or procedures?

The right candidate will join a team of nurses, auxiliaries, and duty vets to deliver the highest standards of care for our patients. You will be a registered and experienced nurse who is forward-thinking, shows empathy, and demonstrates exemplary teamwork.

The role involves 4 x 10-hour days of mixed shifts between the surgical wards and investigative procedures. We provide full induction, mentoring, and support to enhance your skills in advanced nursing care.

This role will primarily involve work within the orthopaedic, neurological, and soft tissue surgical wards and investigative procedures.

You Will Participate In The Following

• Investigations such as x-rays, ultrasound, MRI, CT, EMG, swallow studies, wound exploration, wound management, bandage care, and more
• Ward-based nursing providing inpatient care including bladder expression, urinary catheter maintenance, chest drain management, wound management, bandage care, physiotherapy, rehabilitation methods, cryotherapy, hourly medications, communication with clients, admits, discharges, and rechecks

Previous experience in referral nursing would be beneficial, but we also encourage applications from registered veterinary nurses with several years' post-qualification, first opinion practice experience.

We offer a competitive salary of £28,000 to £32,000 and some great benefits as part of the CVS group.
