Job summary

Intermountain Health is seeking a Surgical Services Support Technician in Grand Junction, Colorado to safely transport patients to and from the OR and PACU, assist with room turnover, and maintain sterile technique. You will support OR and anesthesia with equipment requests and ensure proper handling of specimens and blood according to safety protocols.

Essential duties include coordinating with surgical staff for equipment needs, restocking supplies, and promoting a clean, organized surgical

Qualifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or completed within 3 months of employment.
• Complete Basic Aseptic Technique training within 90 days of hire or transfer.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to fulfill on-call and weekend shift requirements and provide emergency staffing support as needed.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients safely to and from the OR, PACU, or patient rooms using proper handling techniques.
• Assist with room turnover, equipment setup, and supply management prior to procedures.
• Maintain sterile technique and sanitation of surgical areas and instruments.
• Support anesthesia staff by preparing equipment and responding to requests.
• Transport blood products and specimens following safety verification policies.
• Respond to code situations as needed and support the surgical team.
