Job summary

Alcon in the United Kingdom seeks an Account Manager – Surgical Sales to drive growth in the North West Midlands and North Wales by building strong relationships with theatre departments and ophthalmology teams.

You will lead sales of IOLs and cataract consumables, coordinate with product experts, and develop local account plans while identifying opportunities and negotiating contracts.

Qualifications

• Experience selling medical devices in a hospital or theatre setting.
• Proven track record in B2B sales with consultative selling.
• Customer-facing role with strong communication and negotiation skills.
• Ophthalmology experience is advantageous.
• Cross-functional/matrix working and stakeholder engagement.
• Ability to use budget impact models and demonstrate value.
• Strong business acumen and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of surgical techniques, anatomy, physiology and optics is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Represent Alcon in Surgical Accounts and execute the sales plan.
• Drive sales growth through strong customer relationships and pull-through of IOLs and cataract consumables.
• Support stock management and product availability; follow up on invoicing/contracts.
• Lead generation and identification for Alcon equipment; coordinate events.
• Develop and execute cataract-dominant account plans.
• Collaborate with product experts for complex solutions.
• Map stakeholders and inform the business plan; report competitor activities.
